I just obtained a Vigier Passion 5 string bass. I know next to nothing about the bass other than it plays very well! It has a black flamed maple top, and has "Vigier" written in white on the front of the bass at the bottom. I'm having a bit of problem figuring out the control layout. There are two knobs right below the pickups, and these are obviously the master volume and pickup pan. However, there is a three way toggle switch below those two knobs, which seems to work interactively with two lower knobs. I assumed the lower knobs were going to be bass and treble boost/cut, but they don't seem to work as a normal bass and treble knobs. The position of the toggle definitely has an effect on what the knobs do. The layout is not the same as what is shown on the website owners manual for a Passion Custom bass.
The numbers on the body under the bridge pickup are 246/12*09*05. VP4 III is inscribed on the preamp.
Can anyone shed any light?

Hi Patrice
I have the same question, as the proud owner of Passion II serial# 028 made in 1985 I think!
Thanks

You should find the Passion manual here www.vigierguitars.net, it is the same than your excepted the balance, you have a switch.
