Just a thought, how easy would it be for a tracking device to be built into a guitar? I couldn't live without my Vigier's and it would be nice to know that if they did go missing/get stolen I could track them down. Anyone think it would work?

No I know, but I think it's the only thing that exists like this so far. They have a similar system for pets (both of my cats had it implanted at the shelter I got them from)...it's the same way, you cannot determine location unless they scan it.
