I'm very happy with my excalibur ultra, it's great, but I still play on my fender strat plus and my godin lxg(s) with duncan hummies a lot, because I can't seem to get that vintage vibe with my vigier. The feel and action is so much better on my vigier, so I'm thinking about getting something from you again.I love versatility in guitars and have heard a lot of good stuff about the ultra blues, getting vintage single coil sounds and rock sounds out of the PAF.My question is if there is enough difference between the ultra and ultra blues to make it worthwhile? I don't want to have two very similar sounding guitars. Then I would probably be better off with just switching out the 81 EMG to a splittable 89 EMG...Or should I go for another model? Thanks already for the input :-)

Your post went to the trap...The Ultra and Ultra Blues are VERY different, the pickups making the difference. EMGs (Ultra) are actives and loud, while the DiMarzio (Ultra Blues) are more in the Vintage/classic trend. It is day and night, cold and hot.
