Zero fret problem???

Patrice.  I have a Shawn Lane model guitar.  Recently I am getting a sitar like sound from the 4th or D string, fretted or open.  It appears that there is more wear under the D string at the zero fret than there is under the other strings.    Is the zero fret what needs replaced to correct this?  Bridge and saddle appear fine.  How can i order a new zero fret?  if this is the problem.  Thanx, Dennis (also known as Goldtop on the Shawn Lane forum.)
