Hi there,Does anyone here know whether I can use a Vigier Indus with the Roland GK3 ??? I'm thinking about equipping a quitar to use it with the Roland VG-99, and to use the midi stuff on it, I need the GK3 mounted on the guitar too.Thanks.
Vigier Indus with Roland GK3 ???
Hi,It is definitely possible. I have the GK3B on my Passion bass and I absolutely love it. I am trying to persuade my guitarist to get the GK3 on his Excalibur guitar. You could also get the internal kit for the pickup which would do away with the need for the 'brain' to be mounted on the guitar. Luckily on the passion bass it fits on the back of the bass (using the roland clamp) and is extremely neat and almost made to measure!CheerspedP.s the system is not MIDI but a completely revolutionary system where each string is seperately filtered to the unit with zero latency and simply much better than anything else developed IMHO!
Thanks for answering. I haven't seen this internal kit yet, but I've heard about it. I'll check it out.BTW: what do you use the GK3B for exactly? Do you have a VG-99 or another device?megalodon wrote: Hi,It is definitely possible. I have the GK3B on my Passion bass and I absolutely love it. Hi mate,I use it with a Vbass unit. The Vigier by itself is a superb and individial sound, but with the Vbass I can also do more typical Jazz, Precision and Musicman sounds for example, all from my #1 bass. I have tried having individual basses for these sounds but none played anything like as smoothly as my Vigier, so now the problem is solved, I am really happy with it.The Internal kit is called the GK3KIT and retails at about ?100ish. I may fit one at some point but really no rush. Cheersped
Ah cool. Yeah, I'm in the same situation - I've played my Vigier Indus now for quite a while and am spoiled with the smoothness too. So I'd rather use that guitar for everything, if suitable. Now I'm still not sure if I want a VG-99, but some of the samples I've heard were very good. I'm less impressed with the accoustic models. But there was a very good Jazz sound en the bass was pretty convincing too. I'm also checking out Guitar Rig 3, but that doesn't turn your guitra into another guitar.Wicked new world of technology, isn't it. So many options, I don't know what to choose :)Best Regards, megalodonmegalodon wrote:Hi mate,I use it with a Vbass unit. Ah yes that's it! The name doesn't really roll off the tongue does it!!I heard rumours that the Vbass was going to be updated and released as a VG99B but I doubt it. I kind of like the fact that the Vbass is so undiscovered, but still used by some top level players.I wouldn't take much stock from the samples you may have heard - the quality of the sounds depends largely on how good the guitar you install the unit on is (and obviously yours is THE BEST) and also in the brilliabt Roland interface you can adjust literally ANYTHING you like so you can always get the exact sound you like if you know how to get there and are patient. Lots of people seem to think gear like this is for people who like to twiddle knobs all day but in fact once your sounds are stored, it couldn't be simpler. Everything you need is in the one box.I use my Vbass into a pod XT pro which drives my In Ear Monitoring setup so it is an infanitely flexible and fun rig.Let me know how you get on and if you decide to go for the GK and V equipment. I think you will like it!Cheersped
