String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<t>Appreciate your suggestion re the Fender Bullets. For me, it is not a solution and doesn't address the root cause of the problem. Especially on a "High End" instrument.<br/> Perhaps I bought a bad batch (box) of Ernie Ball strings... I don't want to waste them all now on my Vigier, so I ...

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<t>So far, the "solutions" provided are only workarounds to a non-standard Vigier trem block design that has does NOT accommodate standard strings.<br/> <br/> I also question that having the anchor of the string closer to the saddle would marginally (if at all) improve tuning stability.<br/> <br ...

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<t>This is a strange phenomenon indeed, as my pictures clearly show! ><br/> <br/> <br/> I'm guessing it may be a bad batch of strings, OR Ernie Ball has increased the length of the winding. If the later is the case, then don't be surprised if other players will start to notice (and ...

Are you noticing this issue with both the Ernie Ball AND D'Addario strings, or just one of the brands. If just one of the brands, which one do you notice this issue with?

I just changed to a new set of Ernie Ball strings and have the same problem. Checked intonation and seems OK.
Here is a picture below showing the situation (I will also send these to Patrice via email):

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<t>I'm using Ernie Ball strings and have noticed this problem. Didn't occur on my previous set of Ernie Balls (same gauge, 9-42). Intonation is setup. Have floating bridge (not flush with body) so that the base of the bridge is parallel to the body. Having the bridge floating shouldn&apos ...

<t>OK, thanks! That would seem to fix the problem.<br/> However, my favourite strings are the Ernie Balls, so was hoping to use those strings. Also, my goal is to use "standard" strings on all of my guitars, including the Vigier.<br/> Seems odd that no other Vigier owners are facing the same problem ...

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<t>The additional string winding that is near the base of the guitar string (near the ball end) is long enough to extend over and lay across the saddle. This is particulary noticable on the wound strings such as the E and A, but also occurs on the plain strings. This results in string height and ...

Excellent, thanks Ben. I wasn't sure if I could do that because of the metal insert, but just tried it and works fine.
Many thanks!

But the Schaller don't fit the Vigier? I specifically went out and bought Schallers for my SL Master, but they DO NOT fit...
Would love to know how you use Schallers on a Vigier?

<t>I'm getting a squeeking sound when I use my trem on my SL Master, but I'm not sure where exactly it is coming from. Regardless, I hope I can find it and also it can be fixed... <br/> <br/> At first I thought it was my zero fret, but I notice the sound seems like it could be coming from ...

Difference Between Short and Long Scale Necks
<t>Yeah, it is a little bit tight up there on the high frets for the Shanw Lane model, but it is acceptable for me.<br/> I also notice a difference going from my shorter-scale Shawn Lane to my other guitars such as PRS and Suhrs... feels like I'm swimming around there in the low end of the neck ...

Vol and Tone Pots
<t> <br/> What pot would I need so that my volume pot keeps the highs instead of getting muddy when I role down the volume on my SL Master model? Is it a vol pot issue (i.e. 250 versus 500 versus 1 mb), or do I need to some kind of mod like adding a capacitor or something ???<br/> <br/> Also, if I ...

Pickguard for Shawn Lane Master Model
<r> <br/> I'm wondering if I could get a pickguard that has standard screw holes for the pickups (that is, one hole on top and one hole, not two holes, on the bottom) ?<br/> <br/> That way, I could swap out the pickups whenever I want to try out something new.<br/> <br/> Would that be possible ...

New Zero Fret Already Wearing Out?
<r> <br/> It could actually be the Nut and not the zero fret. I had both my zero fret and nut replaced (Patrice sent them out to me here in HK and I replaced them myself). After that the squeeking went away. I do think that Patrice is on the ball with any issues, and if there are any updates to the ...

New Zero Fret Already Wearing Out?
<t>I believe that the new zero frets are stainless steel.<br/> Patrice sent me out a new stainless steel zero fret and also a new nut. Seems a lot of the squeaking noise I was getting on the 3rd string was because the actual nut slot was wide or something. When I replaced both the zero fret and the ...
