The Chinese Democracy / Ron Bumblefoot Thal
<t>I finally listened to the song samples on iTunes, and, for the most part, really like what I heard. Afterwards, I was reading some reviews, and read the stupidest thing.... one critic said something like "Some songs have as many as 5 guitarists bashing away, yet are unable to do what Slash and ...

I've always wished that Floyd Rose would've been born about 20 years earlier, so we could've heard Jimi with a locking trem guitar :)Maybe a Whammy pedal, too.

I've never seen him, but I watch his Youtube videos all the time. He does such a great job of explaining what he does that I can't imagine how great it would be to take lessons from him. He also seems like one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

I voted GV, Spectrum, and Galaxias, in that order.Does it have the traditional Vigier constriction specs, aside from the obvious difference

Excalibur Indus tone
<r>When people say "hotter" about pickups, it means louder, so warm does not mean the same thing. We also use hot as a slang term for when you're working with electricity and the circuit is on. "Careful with that wire, it's hot." People who are into snakes also call venomous snakes hot ...

Hey Patrice (Shawn Lane content)
Was Shawn Lane using the DiMarzio Air Classic pickups when he came to Vigier, or did that start later on?His tone is fantastic, and I'm trying to figure out when he started using them.

It's unbelievable how normal that guitar sounds unless you make it apparent that it's fretless with crazy slides and whatnot.

A nut driver is the tool you want. Once it's set, put a little clear fingernail polish on it. That's a common trick used for Schaller strap locks.

<t>I want a black Indus with a rosewood board really bad. Like really, really bad :)After contacting a US dealer, I found it that it's less expensive than I thought it would be, but still expensive enough to keep it out of reach for the time being. Oh well.... I'll appreciate it more if I ...

Is the zero fret the same height as the others, or a little higher? It seems with a standard guitar neck, you'd want it a little higher if it's helping determine string height, but you don't exactly use normal necks

What picks do you guys like? I usually use the Dunlop Jazz III-sized Tortex (purple & green), but also like the regular black and red Jazz IIIs, and the full size green, blue, and purple Tortex.

I agree. I'm a total gear nerd, and love reading the interviews on manufacturer's sites. This one would be especially cool, because in the US, it tends to be the same handful of guys on every site.

Hey Patrice, what made you decide to use a zero fret? I'm assuming it's to give open strings the same tone as fretted strings, but if there's another reason, I'd like to know.

<t>Keneally is a monster. When I saw Vai, Mike's band Beer For Dolphins was the opener, then he was the guitarist/keyboard for Vai. They did a showdown thing, where it was all call and response back and forth. It eventually got so crazy that they both pulled the whammy bars off their guitars ...

Any screw will work with Schaller locks, you just might need to grind down the head some for it to fit.
