Here the manual -> https://www.vigierguitars.com/medias/do ... arilyn.pdf
You just need to turn the post screws (use the biggest screwdriver you can to avoid damaging / chipping the posts, it'll help to loose strings to remove the tension).

Bearing support parts for bridges
Hello, as can be seen in the Vigier parts shop, the bearing support parts are available for repair/replacement. https://www.parts.vigierguitars.com/en/bridges/202-vigier_parts_bearing_support_for_non_locking_vigier_vibrato.html Can someone at Vigier explain how these parts are replaced / assembled ...

Re: String brand & gauge Excalibur Surfreter
Well ... that surprises me a bit. I would definitely assume that it would come with a wound 3rd out of the factory.
I just took a look at google images of surfreters, and all of them seem to have a wound 3rd.

Re: String brand & gauge Excalibur Surfreter
Specs state this:
Strings : .012-.052
So unless it's a custom/special order with a different preference, I suppose that's what came out of the factory, and with the nut slots adjusted for that gauge
p.s. great fretless playing! kudos to you

Re: Vigier Expert Retro 54
Looks legit to me. Seems you're right though, and the volume knob has changed position over the years on the Experts, here you can see a 2007 expert with exactly the same position (to my eyes), so seems 100% original and not a mod: https://reverb.com/item/49076527-vigier-expert-retro-54 Then the RR ...

Re: Does the carbon neck ever move? (buzz related)
Hi, surely your luthier will quickly determine what the issue is. About your original question, I believe it's fair to assume the neck will not move in normal circumstances, but of course it's not perfect science, as wood can react over time for various reasons (or maybe because it was just a random ...

Hi,
your new guitar is perfect and as expected to be. Only Customs/Originals have that accessory. All other Excaliburs don't have that holder.

Re: Does the carbon neck ever move? (buzz related)
Hi there, my two cents here .... 1) Kahler nut ... if I recall correctly, early Excalliburs had both Kahler floyds (with the bearings mod) and nuts. Then I believe for some time Kahler nuts stayed and the bridge was replaced with a Schaller made floyd, I've seen those. So, I may be wrong but my bet ...

Re: Kaos et downtuning
I don't see why not, there's 25.5 scale 7 string guitars out there .... Using the Kaos, with a 12-54 set, you get 90lbs tension in that tuning you mention. In that example, it's a bit floppier on the bass strings than usual, so maybe low strings could go a bit heavier gauge. Anyway, you can ...

some close up pics may also give some hints ...
are both screws of that saddle touching the tremolo base, or is the saddle "one-leg" like a pirate?
