If I want to adjust the trem from floating to lying flat on the body, will this change the height between the strings and frets?

When the vigier guitar is built, do you set the trem to float or is the trem set flat on the body then raised to the floating position? I'm curious to know if I tighten the claw screws will I be making a deeper screw hole.
Should I avoid tightening + loosening the claw screws in case I strip the screw holes?

We set it floating, if you want to have it fix, just tighten the back springs until the vibrato rest on the body.

When the trem is in the floating position, the springs behind it provide tension that counteracts the downward pressure of the strings. This keeps the strings at a consistent height. However, when you lay the trem flat, the springs are no longer exerting upward pressure, causing the strings to sit closer to the frets.
So what state should the vibrator be instickman hook?
