Vigier Excalibur Indus maintaining

Hey guys I own a black Vigier Excalibur Indus with rosewood fretboard which is my pride and joy. I was changing my strings (using Cleartone .10 if anyone wants to know) I realised that the body was a little dirty and had some scratches on it. As most of you are aware, it has unusual (not in a bad way) paintjob just as GV Metal. My questions are;
I really wonder what makes this paint special? Because it's not like Suhr's satin paints. Does that paint have an obvious advantage/disadvantage over tone or playability?
I'm not sure how to clean it or what to clean it with. I'm afraid that if I use classical cleaning supplies, I might damage the wood underneath.
Thanks for your help
