2011 trem & bridge post

Hi, can anyone help regarding the two black parts of the 2011 trem (they are in front of the needles system and fit around the two bridge posts that screw into the guitar body): should they be touching the guitar body?

These are the screws that 'anchor' the posts. It depends what hight the posts are as to where these will actually sit.

Should I aim the small anchor screws to the top part of the posts where its widest or just below where the post is narrowest?
