Hi there,
I've decided I'm long overdue a new guitar and after some major web trawling on features I might like, I've stumbled across Vigier. I really like the look of the GVs and I'm particularly interested in the GV Wood P90 as I reckon having an "out of phase" pick up selection might be quite fun.
It seems the dealers in the UK don't stock the P90, so in lieu of actually trying one out does anyone have any sound clips of the different pick up positions ? That way if I go and try out an ordinary GV wood, I can make a decision on whether to go P90 or not.
Cheers,
Andy
What does a GV Wood P90 sound like ?
Found this link elsewhere in the forum so that answers that.

Just need to sell the idea to she who controls the purse strings now...
Andy.

Hi Patrice,
I'm still trying to find one in the UK I can try out. World guitars had one very briefly but sold it before I could get down there. Amazon have one but for that money I need to try before I buy. I'd like to try it out against a PRS but after Christmas it will be time for a decision one way or another.
A bientot,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Well, I have just got back from World Guitars. I can tell you they will have a sexy G.V. Wood in Stonewash Blue, on the way to them from the factory any day soon...I am sure you wil fall in love with it...that reminds me, my own G.V. is calling for some attention!!

Well, the GV wood must have been in the shop for all of 4 days before someone bought it so I never got to try it.
Never the less, I went down to world guitars and Geoff kindly let me loose on a variety of guitars. I tried various PRS models and then I tried an Excalibur Supra. I hadn't thought it would be the kind of guitar I would get on with but the difference was frankly staggering and I had to buy it.
Now, I'm very far from the world's best guitarist and a better player than me would probably do well on all the guitars I tried but I have been amazed by how much the Supra has improved my playing.
In addition to the playability, everything about it seems well engineered from the knobs to the trem. I've scarcely had to tune it since I got it and it's been getting a lot of use.
So, I'm a happy bunny. Thanks, Patrice.
