Looks like a Vigier GV Wood will be on the next cover of Premier Guitar for the "Best of 2011" piece.  Great to see.  Seems the guitar world is finally catching on that Vigier makes, and has been making, great guitars; something we've known for a long time.

Exposure like this is thoroughly deserved, and a pleasure to see. I hope it gets more players interested in this awesome guitar maker.

Awesome.  I own a GV Wood and it is everything they say and more.  However, here's something that has bothered me for some time and reading this review reminds me again.  They say it takes style cues from PRS and I've read others on the internet suggest that Vigier copied PRS's headstock design.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vigier has had this headstock design (although slightly wider)since the Arpege was introduced in 1979/80.  PRS didn't start using their design until the mid 80s.  In fact, on PRSes that were made before they were an established company they used a completely different headstock (see Carlos Santana's guitar).  To me, PRS copied Vigier, but because PRS is more mainstream people assume they did it first.  OK...off my soapbox.  I'll take a Vigier over a PRS every time.

You are very right ? Patrice Vigier and his guitars had that headstock shape before PRS even glued the first bit of wood together for one of his guitars?I believe they PRS did try to challenge Vigier?and the papers showing that design was 30 years old soon stopped that?..if anything I?d like to see Vigier put a stop to PRS for ?stealing? the Vigier headstock ? imagine PRS having to change their headstock as well as the press.What I don?t understand is that Mr. PRS is very friendly with Patrice and could have had a quite word, but a year after the release of the G.V series, as it started to pick up so many awards, that is when his lawyers stepped in! Show?s a very fake side to Mr. PRS in his personal dealings with others. Also, remember when Gibson tried to sue PRS, just look at the way PRS jumped up in arms and made such a public fuss, I think it was all to get attention - as it certainly raised their profile (they say any press is good press). I think this shows the class and professionalism that Patrice Vigier carries himself, that the situation with PRS was settled very calmly and quietly behind closed doors and Patrice did need to jump up in arms, it is not the Vigier way. The Vigier way is all about the guitars themselves ? no need for fancy marketing with scantly clad girls or going to the press crying about people trying to sue?Vigier just get on with the business of creating beautiful guitars of undoubtedly superb quality.

So, am I right in thinking the GV won an award in Guitar Buyer mag (not sure if I remembered that one right), and won guitar of the year 2010 in Premier Guitar, and won an award in Premier Guitar again this year?  If so, Awesome! You guys really should have some sort of "Wall of Fame" with all the wins and accolades Vigier gear has got over the years! Show off a little bit!

You are right, just in the UK the G.V. awards already are;

2009 Guitarist magazine G.V.Wood - Guitarist choice award

2009 Guitar and Bass magazine G.V.Wood - 93%

2010 Guitar Buyer magazine G.V.Rock - 5 Star award

2010 Guitar Buyer magazine G.V.Rock - No.1 Winner 'Gear of the Year'

2011 Guitarist magazine G.V.Wood - Guitarist NAMM No.1 product

2011 Guitar Buyer magazine G.V.Rock - Winner Best Single Cut of 2011 (buyers guide)

    I like the idea of a 'wall of fame' for all our awards....it will
have to be a massive wall though for all the awards Vigier has won over
the years!!!!

Wow! The G.V. certainly has done very well, and deservedly so. You guys definitely should try and upload PDF's of the reviews and awards it has got. Things like that are very helpful to buyers and people just browsing abut the name Vigier. They will be able to see just how good the guitars and basses are.
