Pickguard modification

Hey there at Vigier! I'm really interested of these guitars and hoping to buy one in close future. But i do have one issue and that is the normal Volume knob position. Is there enough cavity under the pickguards to move the vol-knob closer tone-knob? And perhaps even the tone bit further away from the neck? Those normal vol-positions really get on my way when playing, so i need to have them further back at the end of the pickguards ( like the 2 tones at Fender strat-style ). Vertical line of bridge at neck side is kinda the marker for me, so the knobs need to be at the "horn" of pickguard at the back. If it isn't clear enough what i mean i can post picture later tonight. So can i order specific pickguard from you guys if i find a used Vigier? Or if i buy new one can i get one of those directly into it? And how much would that cost. I'm not looking for any special color pg or anything. Cheers, Mikey

EDIT: wow that came up messy, paragraphs don't work it seems.

Hi there,             Have a look through the images on the Vigier site - you will notice on some models this is so, as we actually changed and moved the position of the knobs. The images on the site are a mix of old and new. Feel free to post a pic if you want though. Although no pickguard, this is a good indication of the current positions of the vol and tones n Vigier's now; Excalibur Kaos

Yeah that is getting closer to what i need. But as i need to buy one pretty much without testing since I can't really find em close where i live, I just need to be sure about possibilities of getting new pickguard with my kinda positions relatively easy if the case requires one=).

MOdels im interested are those normal tremolo Excalibur/Supra/Indus basically. Not too picky as long as theres humbucker at bridge and something at neck pickup slot. Besides looking nice pickguard provides easy modifications so i prefer them on my guitars from now on.

Thx for swift answer anyway!

The vol/tone positions for the other Excaliburs you mention are the same relative position as on the Kaos.

Where do you live, do you know your nearest dealer?

I'm from Finland. Apparently there is a dealer here, but not sure if its just for ordering stuff via them. Plus it is quite a bit away from where I live. I do however have strong trust on these guitars and they seem to be quite what I am looking for. So mainly the positions are that make or break it, otherwise you gotta get rid of the tone.

I made fast paintjob on the Indus pic from the homepage. The pots have to be behind the red line, somewhat like i drew em there.

Is there enough cavity on the normal models with pickguard?

And could i buy such pickguard from you guys if i buy a used Vigier ( and if so, for how much )?

I would send the pic you have to your dealer and ask them when ordering
to send this pic to the luthiers so they can see...they will be able to
give you a 100% answer at that point (with your countries price if it is
possible) - I am U.K. manager, so I only know for the UK prices...but
if you get stuck or your dealer won't help - come back to me
ben@htd-uk.com / vigieruk@vigierguitars.com and I will see what I can
do.
