Neck relief on Vigiers

Just wondering if the Vigier necks are designed to be dead flat or with a slight relief? Both the Excaliburs I have owned have had a slight relief. If I press down on the low E on the 1st and 24th fret then I get a relief of about 0.20-0.25mm on the 8th fret. Is that normal considering it is 7 years old? Would be great if someone could measure their Vigier and comment! Cheers

Yes that is correct. The Excalibur Shawn Lane Signature's neck is flat with no radius.

I was referring to neck bow not radius, (ie distance between the 8th fret and the low E string when it is fretted on the 1st and 24th fret.)

What you describe sounds about correct for your neck.

ok Thanks. So the necks are infact designed with a slight bow along its length...thought as much. Is that to help in a better action compared to a completely straight neck?

ye mate it makes it easy to play, mine is the same, it has a slight relief of about the same, so that it has enough clearance over the frets and so you can get under the string for bends and stuff.  So don't worry man your guitar is all cool
