Hello and regards to the forum. I got this bass recently from my old uncle, who had this bass from new. He only played it for hours, cause some band members died soon after the purchase and he never played the bass again, so it's virtually new. My uncle is in a bad state these days and can't give me any information about the instrument, only thing I know he bought it somewhen back in the 80's or 90's for 2.800 German marks. Would be great if anyone could identify it, the serial number on bottom of the body says 294. It seems body and neck are all wood apart from the fretboard. I wasn't able to find any pic of exactly this instrument, so hopefully one of the specialists here can give some specs, also the year of manufacture would be nice. Here some pics. Thanks in advance and keep on rocking.

She's a beauty! That's an Arpege, but I'm not exactly sure what series it is. According to the "Date Your Vigier" page ( http://188.130.104.14/sites/medias/pdf/12.pdf ) it was built in '93. I'm not sure if that falls under Series II or Series III. I'm sure Patrice will jump in.
It's in AWESOME shape considering it's two decades old.

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure if the serial number scheme also works for older instruments with a 3-digit serial. On the web I found an Arpège III with serial number 270 dated to 1989, so I really don't know. Also I'm not sure about the neck construction, 90/10 or wooden. The bass has the electronics exactly like written in the manual for the Arpège III. Yes, it's really a beauty, no chips, no dents, really clean, a stunning case sleeper.

Aah, no good idea. First I'm not equipped for making vids, never did one. I'm an old-fashioned audio purist, sorry. Also my bass playing is very simple, as I wrote in the beginning, this used to be the unplayed bass of my uncle. I'm guitarist and singer/songwriter since 40 years, but I fear this doesn't qualify to play such a nice bass in public.
