The serial number he gave me was : 010318. Now the sale said he bought it 2 years ago from the factory, does the 01 suggest that it was manufactured in 2001 and not 2006?

You made a good deal.I looked the guitar was not bought at the factory as we do not sell to the public and yes the guitar is from 2001 as indicate the serial number.
