Re: GV Wood - nuts n strings
Thanks - I will definitely order a new size nut then, so I have the option to go up a gauge. I have a set of GHS Eric J's still in their packet - I didnt realise they were half-rolled, so will give them a try when I have new nut installed - thanks !

GV Wood - nuts n strings
I’m lucky enough to own GV Wood in solid and hollow body versions I find the pickups too bright for my amp setup - has anyone tried half wounds ? Also - does anyone know if the standard nut for the GV (ships with 9-46 strings ) will also take a slightly heavier set - up to 10-50 for example ? Thanks

<t>Hi - I got hold of the TGI straplocks - am just using the buttons - and the Vigier bolts fit thru them fine<br/> <br/> They are sold in UK - not sure about elsewhere - and are half the price of the schallers - the part of the lock which goes on the strap doesn't look to be as good quality as ...

Try lowering the pickups slightly too, and check the strings have space to run thru the nut.

New Guitar - Buzz on the A string
If that doesn't work - I suggest trying a brand new A string - it could be the string/windings which are faulty - I have had this before with duff wound or unwound strings

Hi Steve - did you get the neck/fret issues sorted OK
Aposl you were asking about action - My only Vigier is a Lane model - so probably not a good comparison ( its very very very low, partially due to having a flat fretboard)

I hope all works out OK - I was sorely tempted by that very axe myself at WG when I saw it online.
I'm keen to see one "in the flesh " to see just how dark/pale the colour is - hopefully there will be another at one of the UK dealers soon

Have you had a look up the neck to ensure the pitch looks ok? May be worth trying new strings, but it would be unusual for 2 to play up
Does it happen on open string as well as fretted?
Do you hear it thru an amp ( wondering if the zero fret may be loose?)

Can you feel the carbon strip sometimes?
I'm guessing its the wood in the neck shrinking in the winter? The carbon fibre strip won't move.
