I've just started a new band using slightly lower and alternate tunings. I was wondering if * heavier strings to my bass would in anyway compromise the stability of the neck, given the lack of truss rod? Since Vigier don't make make strings beyond 50-105, I just want to know things will be okay if I installed a 115 gauge string on the bottom E string.

I know the best idea would be to get a Vigier 5 string, but that might be a few years off (one day though!)

Thanks, any help would be great. Now I really should be going to bed!

Use the gauge you want, the instruments will carry it with no problem. The only thing you need to do is adjust the nut.
