I will be making a couple of trips to India with my Vigier soon, for 3 weeks and 6 months. Travelling from England I was wondering if I need to take any precautions regarding humidity, especially on my return.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Depends which part of India you go to. You should be more concerned about the heat, though its only in mid summer when its between 35-45 degrees in the hottest parts. Winter can have temperatures drop to 0 in north India. Otherwise humidity is only an issue in the coastal areas such as Mumbai, Goa or Calcutta.

Aug - sept will be hot and pretty humid. Rains between Sept-Dec. November onwards its cooler and pleasant (18-25 c). Starts heating up around late feb - March and then back to hot and humid (32-40C). Chennai is pretty humid overall. Though I doubt your vigier will be affected.

I bet nothing will occur to your guitar. Go there and let us know, so it is not me who says the Vigier are stable.

I live in in Hong Kong and bought my Vigier specifically for neck stability reasons (it get's * hot and humid most of the year here too, but very cool in winter).   My other guitars, about 10 in total, some of them what I would consider top-end instruments such as 2 Suhrs and a PRS, constantly need fine tuning of the neck, which I prefer to be dead flat.   So far, no problems with the neck of my Vigier Shawn Lane... stays flat and has the same feel day to day.   I've also travelled to Chennai, India for business, so I know how hot and humid it gets there. I think you shouldn't have any problems neck-wise with your Vigier, but hope it likes hot curry!

I'm back from Chennai. It was very hot and humid, yet my Vigier stayed in perfect condition. I kept a couple of silica gel bags in the hardcase for the return journey to try to prepare the guitar for the relative dryness of the UK but I'm not even sure they were necessary.Great guitars!
