It seems George Lucas can't get enough of his smash hit Star Wars franchise - the director and producer is said to be getting closer to bringing a new Star Wars series to TV.

EW.com reports that George is set to visit Los Angeles next week to meet and recruit several freelance writers to spend a week at Skywalker Ranch in November - to come up with story ideas for the series.

One agent familiar with the project told the website that George has expressed a desire to work with writers from countries outside the US.

The writers would apparently go away and write 13 episodes, which would then be produced and financed by George.

The producer, based in San Francisco, reportedly began hiring Hollywood writers for the project as early as February last year, originally intending to produce as many as 26 episodes.

The rumour among fans is that the live action series would fill in the story gap between the end of Star Wars III: Revenge Of The Sith and Star Wars IV: A New Hope, but plot points for the series remain sketchy at this stage.

yeah. i'm looking forward to both , the animated series and the one with the actors.saw some pictures of that animated one. looks like a 3D-version of clone wars(thus being still very comic-like; which should turn out quite interesting i think).
