String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<r><P>Appreciate your suggestion re the Fender Bullets. For me, it is not a solution and doesn't address the root cause of the problem. Especially on a "High End" instrument.</P> <P>Perhaps I bought a bad batch (box) of Ernie Ball strings... I don't want to waste them all now on my Vi...

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
So far, the "solutions" provided are only workarounds to a non-standard Vigier trem block design that has does NOT accommodate standard strings.
I also question that having the anchor of the string closer to the saddle would marginally (if at all) improve tuning stability.

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<r>This is a strange phenomenon indeed, as my pictures clearly show! > I'm guessing it may be a bad batch of strings, OR Ernie Ball has increased the length of the winding. If the later is the case, then don't be surprised if other players will start to notice (and complain about) the same...

Are you noticing this issue with both the Ernie Ball AND D'Addario strings, or just one of the brands. If just one of the brands, which one do you notice this issue with?

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<r><P>OK, thanks! That would seem to fix the problem.</P> <P>However, my favourite strings are the Ernie Balls, so was hoping to use those strings. Also, my goal is to use "standard" strings on all of my guitars, including the Vigier.</P> <P>Seems odd that no other Vigier owners are facing the same ...

String winding extends over saddle ?!?!
<P>The additional string winding that is near the base of the guitar string (near the ball end) is long enough to extend over and lay across the saddle. This is particulary noticable on the wound strings such as the E and A, but also occurs on the plain strings. This results in string height and int...

Excellent, thanks Ben. I wasn't sure if I could do that because of the metal insert, but just tried it and works fine.
Many thanks!

Would love to know how you use Schallers on a Vigier?

<P> </P> <P>What pot would I need so that my volume pot keeps the highs instead of getting muddy when I role down the volume on my SL Master model? Is it a vol pot issue (i.e. 250 versus 500 versus 1 mb), or do I need to some kind of mod like adding a capacitor or something ???</P> <P> </P...

<r><P>I believe that the new zero frets are stainless steel.</P> <P>Patrice sent me out a new stainless steel zero fret and also a new nut.
